Northwest Pipe has more than 700 employees across North America. They range from plant managers to technical personnel, from administrative staff to senior executives. Most work at our nine manufacturing facilities where safety and training are a huge focus.

Scott Montross has served as our Director, President and Chief Executive Officer since January 1, 2013. Scott joined the Company in May, 2011 after 23 years in the steel industry where he held a number of key senior positions including his most recent position as Executive Vice President of the Flat Products Group for Evraz Inc. NA’s Oregon Steel Division, Claymont Steel Division and the Regina Steel Division. Prior to Evraz Inc. NA, Scott held positions with Oregon Steel Mills and National Steel Corporation. He is a graduate of Colgate University.
Executive Vice President – Water Transmission
Bill Smith was appointed Executive Vice President – Water Transmission in April 2016 and oversees all sales & operational aspects for Northwest Pipe Company’s six manufacturing facilities. He joined the company in 2010 and was most recently the Executive Vice President – Operations. Prior to joining the company, Bill spent 14 years with Ameron including a term as President of Water Transmission. A 39-year veteran of the steel pipe business, Bill has also held positions with United Concrete Pipe, Thompson Steel Pipe and LB Foster. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Chief Financial Officer
Aaron Wilkins joined Northwest Pipe Company in 2014 as the Company’s Corporate Controller. In 2020, Aaron became Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Aaron is responsible for the Company’s finance and investor relations functions. Prior to Northwest Pipe Company, Aaron spent two years as the Chief Financial Officer of Omega Morgan, an industrial services company. His experience also includes seven years with Evraz Inc. North America, where his roles included Corporate Controller and Director of Finance. Aaron began his career in public accounting with KPMG LLP and earned Bachelor of Science-Business and Masters of Professional Accountancy degrees from Montana State University.
