Webinar Details:
uried steel pipelines subjected to ground movement—whether from differential settlement, expansive soils, fault crossings, landslides, or liquefaction zones—must be designed to accommodate strain without compromising performance.
This webinar introduces the InfraShield® Joint System, a fully welded Geohazard Resistant Steel Pipe (GRSP) solution developed by Northwest Pipe Company. The patented system builds on the proven performance of C200 steel pipe with a bell-and-spigot lap-welded joint, incorporating a small projection on the spigot end that predictably absorbs deformation and protects the joint during geohazard or ground settlement events.
Attendees will learn how this strain-based approach enables welded steel pipelines to accommodate ground deformation while continuing to deliver water reliably—without gasketed joints or system redundancy.
Earn up to 1 PDH / CEU credit for attending (check with your local licensing agency for eligibility. A certificate of completion will be provided after the webinar).
Topics Covered:
- Introduction to the InfraShield® GRSP System
- Full-scale testing and finite element analysis (FEA) used to develop and verify system performance
- A practical design tool for common differential settlement scenarios
- Numerical modeling of GRSP behavior in severe geohazard conditions, including various fault crossing types
- Case histories demonstrating the use of InfraShield® GRSP in major U.S. water transmission projects for both settlement and fault crossing applications
- Q&A
