Crossing of a live Canadian Pacific Railroad line with dual culverts was required
Dual 80-ft installations of 84-inch diameter culverts were installed underneath live railroad traffic that had more than 56 trains passing over it in a given day. The Contractor, Kamloops Augering and Boring Ltd., utilized a pneumatic hammer and a 96-inch boring machine to perform this project. Productivity improvement and consequent savings were realized using Permalok steel casing pipe. The project was completed in 17 days with zero impact to railroad activity.
