ABOUT THE JOB:
The Project Sales Representative (PSR) identifies new and existing customer needs and recommends products and services that meet the customer needs. The PSR also listens to and addresses customer concerns, and facilitates sales. This job’s territory will be the greater DFW metroplex.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifying and estimate products from blueprints and specifications.
- Work as a collaborative member of our sales team to sell our products
- Managing sales with and through distribution and developing quotes and orders.
- Provide sales support for multiple projects.
- Provide project support for submittals, production and product delivery during construction.
- Maintain production processes, procedures and open orders.
- Consistently follow up on quotes and ongoing projects and drive to completion.
- Partner with engineering & marketing personnel to develop new ideas, products, and trademarks.
- Interface with customers and engineering consultants.
- Continuously improve technical expertise and knowledge of ParkUSA products, competitive products and civil infrastructure trends.
- Conduct sales and technical presentations, perform analysis and specification development.
- Build and manage project pipeline leads using CRM to measure project specific performance. Update continuously to ensure information is timely, accurate and complete.
- Acquire and continuously improve consultative marketing and transactional selling skills. Develop and maintain professional relationships with accounts.
- Account ownership, own the client relationship and leverage internal support network to deliver solutions.
- Visit with customers and engineering firms as necessary.
- Perform transactional and consultative selling and project coordination; Bidding, Quoting, Negotiate, Receiving PO, Creating Sales Order, Submittal Review, Production Coordinating, QC, Shipment Verification, & Invoicing
- Build and maintain rapport with key specifiers, customers, & identifying new opportunities.
- Ability to understand and derive satisfaction from a both consultative marketing and transactional selling styles.
- Ability to draw out and understand the designer’s needs and help find solutions.
- Ability to communicate technical information, concepts and applications very effectively using consultative marketing skills.
- Assist with project work as directed by Department Manager
- Comply with all ParkUSA policies, procedures and guidelines
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation
- Working knowledge of water pumps, stormwater devices, plumbing systems, HVAC
- Ability to read and interpret documents such contract drawings, technical specifications, bid packet requirements, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and other information given by sales team members.
- Ability to speak effectively and professionally.
- Understands the construction value chain including the roles of owners, engineers, distributors, and contractors in selling product.
- Listens and gets clarification.
- Ability to perform business math calculations for figures, amounts, margin, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Uses intuition and experience to complement data given.
- Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Proficient in the use of Windows, Excel, Word, MS Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM Systems.
- Excellent organizational skills: prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and quickly, sets goals and objectives, organizes or schedules other people and their tasks to meet deadlines.
- Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness while working quickly.
- Reacts well under pressure.
- Applies feedback to improve performance.
- Able to read, write and speak in English language
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college preferred but not required
- 3 – 5 years of experience in site civil projects or construction industry sales
- Background in Technical Sales, Engineering, or Construction required systems, & precast concrete pipe/valve/fitting is preferred
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) or SAP highly preferred
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM), SalesForce preferred
