About the Job

The Senior Operations Specialist assists the Engineering Department and Water Transmission Operations team by relieving them of clerical work and administrative responsibilities.

Essential Functions & Major Responsibilities
  • To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • File correspondence and other records.
  • Log Shop Drawing submittals & approvals and distribute drawings to production.
  • Maintain project files in track.net (drawings, materials, pricing, customer surveys, and documentation).
  • Compile data from internal sources and prepare statistical reports.
  • Maintain and distribute specifications and standards.
  • Prepare production forecast reports for review and distribution.
  • Make copies of correspondence or other printed matter.
  • Perform duties for engineering staff as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/Experience
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
