About the Job

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a heavy industrial forklift to locate, load, unload, and move large welded steel pipe plates of steel and coil for production and shipping and receiving. 

Essential Functions & Major Responsibilities
  • Load and unload welded steel pipe, steel plates and steel coils.
  • Move loads around the yard where instructed.
  • Operate skip loader/grader to maintain roads, fluff berms, load sand, pick up trash, clean pits.
  • Assist with organizing and cleaning the yard.
  • Inspect forklift daily for safety and mechanical deficiencies.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on forklift.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must have ability to maintain forklift certification.
  • Must be able to operate large industrial forklift (36,000 lbs or bigger), skip loader/grader equipment safely.
  • Ability to use hand held radios for communicating.
  • Reading gauges and watching guides.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum two years experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating large industrial forklifts, skip loaders/graders.
