About the Job
The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes to support strategic decision-making. This role will be responsible for providing key insights and recommendations to drive the company’s financial performance and growth. The Director of FP&A will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company’s financial goals and objectives.
Essential Functions & Major Responsibilities

- Partner with senior leadership to enhance financial metrics to facilitate achievement of long-term financial and operational plans and strategies.
- Direct the annual budgeting process, including the development of budget guidelines, timelines, and templates.
- Direct the monthly forecasting process, including monitoring and reporting on forecast variances, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with department heads to create budgets and forecasts that align with strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and scenario planning.
- Lead initiatives to refine and enhance forecasting processes to create efficiencies.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on financial forecasts, highlighting key trends and potential risks.
- Analyze financial performance, identifying key drivers of variance and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior leadership.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support growth initiatives, cost management, and capital allocation.
- Participate in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) analysis, due diligence, and integration planning.
- Lead and mentor the FP&A team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools, skills, and knowledge to succeed.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Finance team and across the organization.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Excel and financial planning software.
- Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on mentoring and developing talent.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience in the application of GAAP and an understanding of internal controls
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, including supervisory experience.
- Proven track record of managing complex budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.
- Experience in a publicly traded company environment is preferred.
- Strong background in manufacturing, production or a related industry is preferred.
- Experience working with SAP or other major enterprise-wide application.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
