About the Job

The Position of Burn Table Operator is to handle and cut steel plate for production in a pipe making facility.

Operator is responsible for cutting plate per the job plan, tracking and identifying steel plates processed, and maintaining good record keeping to ensure job quality and material traceability.

The operator is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining the CNC plasma burning equipment.

Essential Functions & Major Responsibilities
  • Reads, interprets and clearly understands work order specifications and sets up machines to produce material that meets quality and customers’ expectations
  • Sets up machines to optimize production efficiency and materials
  • CNC controlled plasma machine cutting material from ½” to 2” thick material
  • Take direction and guidance from Plant supervisor and follow cutting practices and machine operation
  • Ensure cut quality and tolerances using tape measure
  • Troubleshoot equipment and make basic adjustments
  • Safe operation of material handling equipment
  • Record and perform all Pre and Post shift preventative maintenance procedures
  • Maintain and keep cutting surface in good order
  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • This position operates in a manufacturing shop environment
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is necessary in order to perform the essential functions of this position

  • Prefer one year to six months of related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
